Natural slate speaks for itself it has been used throughout the UK and Europe for hundreds of years. Natural slates come in many sizes and makes. The most common in the UK is the Welsh slate which is renowned as the best quality slate money can buy. The second most common slate locally to me is the Spanish slate. This slate has a different grain than the Welsh slate the closer the grain the better the slate.
Natural slates can be spiked and copper nailed or they can be hung with stainless steel clips.
